About Samuels Consulting

Samuels Consulting differs from large consulting firms by offering:

  • Less impact on your business with one external person interacting with your staff
  • One knowledgeable point of contact for project questions, updates and results
  • Speed of execution
  • Flexibility in project timing and scope to meet your business needs
  • Customized project approach based on your urgency and business needs

How Samuels Consulting began:

In 2009 Stew was approached by a former colleague to help her company review and analyze their business processes and management systems to determine the underlying causes of a severe billing backlog

Stew walked through each step of the company's product delivery and billing processes and provided the CEO with the requested detailed analysis and specific recommendations to address the causes of the backlog.

A by-product of this experience was that Stew discovered how much he really enjoyed this role - utilizing his broad business experience and knowledge of where and how problems could occur and how to successfully address these problems.

About Stew Samuels

Stew began his career with Bank of America in their credit card division as a front line supervisor while pursuing his undergraduate degree. During his tenure at Bank of America, while obtaining his law degree, Stew held management positions of increasing responsibility.

Thereafter, Stew joined First Deposit Corporation, a startup financial services company with less than 175 employees as Vice President of Operations. During his career, he held senior management positions in credit, collections, fraud loss prevention, customer service, direct marketing and new business development. In 1998 Stew was named Senior Vice President - COO for a new secured lending/home equity division within First Deposit Corporation, by then known as Providian Financial. In this capacity, he had responsibility for credit, collections, application processing, customer service, and technology.

Stew's last corporate role was Executive Vice President, Human Resources and Administration for Providian Financial, which had become a Fortune 500 company and the ninth largest issuer of credit cards in the United States.

From 2001 to 2009, Stew was self-employed - investing in real estate, managing family investments and consulting with sole proprietor businesses on web presence and internet marketing.

In his spare time, Stew developed his skills in Home/Technology integration, web development and portraiture photography.
